چکیده

Advances in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) as well the present challenges of COVID-19 have led to a new paradigm causing an absolute or partial transition from in-person classroom teaching-learning online. There is little information available on research efforts that investigated impact online learning approach academic performance students mechanical engineering-based courses. Therefore, objective this paper study mode compared selected engineering courses one Universities South Pacific Islands prior-to-and-during Era. Data grades obtained for 178 offered Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Advanced Thermofluids (FTHA) were subjected descriptive non-parametric (Mann-Whitney Kruskal-Wallis) statistical tests. Although analysis showed instruction might influence better FTHA comparison with instruction, outcome Mann-Whitney U Kruskal-Wallis tests at specific p-values corresponding z-values generally exhibited higher than 0.05, implying insignificant difference between two modes investigated. Though test results there was no significant when used, this, however, does not imply exist all. may be very trivial, has shown least students’ in-person. It can inferred foregoing yield negative response respect who all four Based findings study, considered reliable alternative suitable complement in-person-online hybrid during ongoing era other inevitable constraints future.
